Newark's New Editor Knows This Town Well
Nika Megino, a homegrown journalist, will take over as Newark Patch Editor on Monday.

Patch is pleased to announce that will take over as Editor of Newark Patch on Monday.
Megino is best described as a homegrown journalist. She was raised in Newark and attended local schools through high school before leaving to pursue a degree in journalism and government at Sacramento State University, where she was managing editor of the school newspaper and an editorial assistant at the Sacramento Bee.
She spent a year as a fulltime education reporter at the Fairfield Republic before returning to the East Bay, where she’s been a Patch freelance writer and occasional site guest editor for the past eight months.
