Pedestrian Suffers Major Injuries After Car Strikes Them in Newark

The collision was on Mowry Avenue Saturday.

NEWARK, CA — A pedestrian suffered major injuries Saturday morning after a car struck them in Newark, according to police. The collision was first reported around 6 a.m. on Mowry Avenue, somewhere between Cherry Street and Cedar Boulevard, police dispatcher said.

The victim was taken to a hospital. Police closed the eastbound lanes on Mowry Avenue in the area
to investigate the crash. They expected to reopen the lanes by mid-afternoon, police said.
