Pharmaceutical Company to Move to Newark from Menlo Park

Depomed, Inc. has signed a 10-year lease with with the Pacific Research Center.

A specialty pharmaceutical company has signed a long-term lease with the , according to a press release.

Depomed, Inc. has signed a 10-year lease with BioMed Realty Trust Inc. for a space that totals approximately 60,000 square feet at the Pacific Research Center campus, the press release states.

In the press release published on StreetInsider.com, Depomed President and CEO Jim Schoeneck said:

“We are excited about our move later this year to the Pacific Research Center. The combination of a vibrant, accessible campus and BioMed Realty's specialty expertise in understanding and operating life science real estate was certainly a factor in our decision to become part of the life science community at PRC."

Depomed is currently located in Menlo Park, according to its website, and joins a number of businesses who have recently moved to Newark from neighboring towns, including , which was previously based in Fremont, and , which was once located in Menlo Park.

In early March, reports noted that between BioMed Realty Trust Inc. and a private biotech company but the name of that company has not yet been released.
