As thousands of firefighters travel to attend a service to mourn the loss of two fallen San Francisco firefighters this morning, firefighters in Newark continue to honor their comrades by flying flags at half staff at all three fire stations in town.
Lt. Vincent Perez, 48, and firefighter-paramedic Anthony Valerio, 53, died of injuries that resulted from neighborhood on June 2. Perez is a former Alameda County Sheriff's deputy.
Alameda County Fire Department officials announced this morning on Twitter that they will be among the firefighters who will be in attendance to support the San Francisco Fire Department.
