K-9 Unit Finds Man After He Runs From Police, Breaks Ankle
A 32-year-old Newark man was arrested around 2:11 a.m. on Nov. 12 after he evaded police and broke his ankle during a traffic stop on southbound Interstate 880. Police followed the man, who was traveling at high speeds on the freeway, to the parking lot where he ran out and jumped over the parking lot wall. Police set up a perimeter and the Newark Police Department's K-9 unit located the man by , 38600 Cedar Blvd. The man was transported to a local hospital for his broken ankle and then was cited and released at Washington Hospital on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, resisting arrest, evading a peace officer and driving without a license.

Man Arrested After Exposing Himself
A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure around 5:50 p.m. on Nov. 12. Commander Robert Douglas of the Newark police Department said the man was arrested at his residence on Blackwood Drive after officers were called to the 36500 block of Charles Street to a report of a disturbance and learned that the man was incoherently yelling in public and pulled down his pants. Police said neighbors reported that the man began to fondle himself while yelling. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

Man Gets Too Drunk, Spits on Officers
A man was arrested on suspicion of battery on police officers, being drunk in public, and resisting arrest around 3:20 p.m. on Nov. 9. Police officers were called to the at 7015 Thornton Ave. to a report of a man urinating in public outside of the business. Police found the man in a parking lot at 6714 Thornton Ave. and determined he was too intoxicated to care for himself. The man spat on officers and yelled obscenities at them while they tried to arrest him. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
Burglary and Theft
Two women, ages 43 and 37, were arrested on suspicion of burglary at at 11:09 a.m. on Nov. 11. The 43-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of possession of burglary tools. Both women were booked into Fremont Jail.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of petty theft at Lido Boulevard and Cedar Boulevard on Nov. 11. He was cited and released.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of petty theft at on Nov. 10. He was cited and released.
Two women, ages 18, were arrested on suspicion of petty theft from at NewPark Mall at 300 NewPark Mall on Nov. 8.
Alcohol and Drugs
A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of biking while under the influence of drugs or alcohol and being under the influence of a controlled substance at Birch Street and Cedar Boulevard on Nov. 13. He was booked into Fremont Jail.
A 56-year-old Pleasanton man was arrested on suspicion of having drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop that was conducted at Willow Street and Enterprise Drive on Nov. 12.
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine at Rockrose and Jonquil drives on Nov. 11. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail. According to court records, the same man was arrested on suspicion of possession of concentrated marijuana and unlawful carrying and possession of a dangerous weapon last year.

A 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol while under the age of 21 and driving without a license at California Street and Central Avenue on Nov. 7. He was booked into Fremont Jail.
A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at Interstate 880 and Stevenson Boulevard on Nov. 7. He was booked into Fremont Jail.
Misc.
A minor was arrested on suspicion of vandalism at Cedar Boulevard and Birch Street on Nov. 8. The minor was given a notice to appear in court.
