Police Say Don't Drink and Drive this Memorial Day Weekend
Local police will participate in the regional Avoid the 21 Campaign this weekend to curb drunken driving.

The Memorial Day Avoid the 21 Campaign runs from Friday, May 25 a minute after midnight through Monday, May 28, 2012.
Please take a moment to consider the following:
Alcohol impaired deaths still make up the largest category of overall vehicle fatalities with 29 percent of all deaths in 2010 being caused by a drunk driver.
In 2010, over 10,000 people were killed nationally in motor vehicle traffic crashes that involved at least one driver or motorcycle rider with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08% or higher.
