Woman Injured After Stripping of Copper Wire
Newark police are investigating the injury of a 33-year-old woman who was admitted to Kaiser Hospital for severe burns on Aug. 29 around 10 p.m. Police said the woman sustained the injuries when she was stripping copper wire.

Girl Found Safe After Police Called to Mall
Officers responded to at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday after a call that an 11-year-old girl had not been seen since leaving her family when she ran into a 13-year-old male acquaintance about two hours earlier. Police found the girl and her friend safe in Fremont.
Violence
A report of gunshots being fired on McDonald Avenue was called into the Newark Police Department around 11 p.m. on Aug. 29.
A report of gunshots being fired on Bellflower Drive was called into the Newark Police Department around 9:05 p.m. on Sept. 3.
Burglaries and Thefts
A 38-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of burglary at on Sept. 4 at NewPark Mall.
A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grand theft on Sept. 3 at 6025 Joaquin Murieta Ave. He was booked into Fremont Jail.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft and unlawful taking or driving of a vehicle at on Sept. 1.
Two minors were arrested on suspicion of burglary on Sept. 1. They were given notices to appear in court and released to an adult.
Two women, ages 19 and 18, were arrested and cited on suspicion of petty theft on Aug. 31.
An 18-year-old woman was arrested and cited on suspicion of petty theft on Aug. 31.
Drugs and Alcohol
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of transporting, importing, selling, furnishing, administering or giving away a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on Sept. 4.
Numerous calls of burglaries, batteries and assaults were called into the Newark Police Department, but no futher details were available.
