The $72.3 million project, launched in 2019 and funded with a voter-approved bond measure, is home to the David W. Smith City Hall, Newark Police Department and the Alan L. Nagy Library.
The event, at 37101 Newark Blvd., will include an 11 a.m. ribbon cutting, along with tours, live music, food and games.

Do note that Newark Boulevard, from Civic Terrace to Thornton avenues, will be closed to through traffic from 6 a.m. - 5 p.m., according to the Newark Police Department.
In November 2016, the City of Newark passed a ballot measure that raised the sales tax by one-half cent — with proceeds generated going toward the center's construction, which began in September 2019. The complex consists of the three buildings for police, administration and the library, with the plaza area envisioned as a multi-function event space, officials said.
