Teen Arrested After Home Burglary
The teenager has been arrested previously in Newark on suspicion of similar charges.

A 16-year-old from Oakland was arrested on suspicion of a residential burglary after a woman spotted him carrying her property on Monday night, police said.
The woman saw the teenager in front of her residence around 5:50 p.m. on the 8400 block of Mayhews Landing Road as she returned home, according to Commander Robert Douglas of the Newark Police Department.
She and her family chased the boy in their vehicle as he ran through the neighborhood, dropping their property, police said.

He was found hiding on a porch on Sunset Avenue off Spruce Street, about half a mile away from the burglarized home, where officers found more stolen property in the teenager's pockets and backpack, police said.
The teenager, who ran away from a group home in Oakland, had been arrested previously in Newark for a residential burglary, police said. He was booked into juvenile hall.

Monday night's arrest comes nearly two months after a 25-year-old Fremont man was arrested on suspicion of a residential burglary in the Lake district that occurred just before 1:40 p.m. on June 2.
On May 30, a 20-year-old man and two minors were arrested , also in the city’s Lake district.
In April, on suspicion of residential burglary in west Newark, near Willow Street.
In recent years, Newark . From 2009 to 2010, the number of residential burglaries increased nearly 25 percent, from 159 incidents to 198.
