Thunderstorm Possible In Newark Thursday Morning: NWS
The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement for parts of the East Bay, with Newark specifically mentioned.

NEWARK, CA — Newark may see thunderstorms and hail Thursday morning, the National Weather Service reports.
The NWS Bay Area issued a Special Weather Statement for Newark and several East Bay locations after "trained weather spotters" reported a strong thunderstorm.
The severe weather is coming as part of a storm system from the Gulf of Alaska, according to the NWS.

The storm may bring lightning, pea size hail, heavy rain, and wind gusts of up 30 miles an hour. Winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects, and minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.
The storm is bringing frequent cloud to ground lightning, which can strike from 10 miles away, the NWS said. Residents are advised to seek shelter inside a building or vehicle.
