Wind Advisory Issued For East Bay

Here's the timing for the worst of the wind.

NEWARK, CA — The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the East Bay hills, with the forecast calling for peak wind gusts of around 30 mph in Newark.

High winds are expected to arrive Wednesday evening and last through Thursday, the NWS said.

Winds are expected to top out at 35 to 45 mph early Thursday morning in portions of the East Bay, according to the NWS.

Elsewhere in the Bay Area, wind gusts will peak at 60 mph.

It is recommended that you have all of your devices fully charged before bedtime on Wednesday in case of power outages.

If you have lightweight chairs, cushions or other items in your yard, secure them before the wind arrives.
