Car Slams Tree, Power Pole In Newport Beach; Person Injured

A single-vehicle crash was reported around 3:46 a.m. Wednesday morning in Newport Beach, authorities said.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A single-car crash was reported in Newport Beach early Wednesday morning, the Newport Beach Fire Department said.

The crash was originally reported at 3:46 a.m. Wednesday morning on the northbound side of Jamboree Road, just north of Bison Avenue.

Upon arriving, authorities found that a car had struck and downed an Edison power pole before coming to a stop against a tree. A passenger in the car was rescued from the wreckage via extrication, firefighters said.

The patient was taken to an area hospital and is in stable condition, firefighters said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
