Chick-fil-A Restaurant In Newport Beach Close Christmas Weekend

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — All Chick-fil-A restaurants nationwide, including those in Orange County and across the Golden State, will be closed for an entire weekend later this month, a rare occurrence.

That's right. No Chik-fil-A sandwiches, lemonade or chicken strips for an entire weekend.

Chick-fil-A locations typically close Sundays, but this year they will close on Dec. 25 as well to observe Christmas Day. In Orange County, over 20 stores will close for the full Christmas weekend.

There are 160 store locations in California, according to the chain's website. In and around Newport Beach, these Chick-fil-A's will be closed.

• 4127 Campus Dr, Irvine
• 13490 Jamboree Rd, Irvine
• 6428 Irvine Blvd, Irvine

Locations will reopen on Dec. 27, but operating hours will vary by restaurant, the company said. The founder of Chick-fil-A, the late Truett Cathy, was a devout Baptist. The restaurant chain gives its employees Sundays off to attend church.

"Chick-fil-A restaurants will be closed on Christmas Day so our restaurant teams can spend time with family and friends. We will also be closed on Sunday, December 26 – as we are every Sunday — but look forward to serving you when we reopen on Monday, December 27," the popular restaurant chain announced.
