City To Consider Permanent Outdoor Dining For Newport Beach Restaurant

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — The Newport Beach Planning Commission will decide whether or not to allow a local restaurant to turn their temporary outdoor patio into a permanent one at their Thursday, April 20 meeting.

At the meeting, commissioners will hear Kalaveras Newport Beach's request for a conditional use permit to make up to 940 square-feet of the restaurant's temporary outdoor patio permanent.

The restaurant is also asking commissioners to allow for the expansion of the eatery's liquor license to include the outdoor dining patio, and to increase the hours of operate to between 10 a.m. and 2 a.m. daily.

Kalaveras is a restaurant that serves up traditional Mexican dishes, cocktails and more. The restaurant is located at 803 Dove Street in Newport Beach.

Newport Beach Planning Commissioners will discuss the matter at its meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20 at Newport Beach City Halls, 100 Civic Center Drive.
