Driver Arrested After Leading Police on Chase

A pickup truck driver was arrested late Friday after leading officers on a three-county chase that began in Newport Beach and ended about 60 miles away in Colton, according to a broadcast report.
The chase started around 10:10 p.m. when police attempted to pull over the driver for outstanding vehicle code warrants, reported CBS2. The driver made his way through Riverside County on the Riverside (91) Freeway before getting onto Interstate 215, according to CBS2, which broadcast live video of the chase.
The pickup truck apparently ran over a spike strip and lost its front left tire, but the driver did not stop, even as a thick trail of sparks streamed from the vehicle's front axle.
The truck eventually came to halt around 11:20 p.m. in Colton the San Bernardino County city of and the suspect surrendered.
