Jewelry, Electronics Stolen from Newport Home

A home on Hazel Avenue in Newport Beach was recently burglarized, police reported.

A Newport Beach home was recently the target of a burglary, police reported.

Sometime between Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 a home in the 300 block of Hazel Avenue was burglarized. According to police, the suspect entered the home through the front door and stole a flat screen TV, golf clubs, blue ray player, two wetsuits, DVDs and jewelry from several rooms and the garage.

- Close and lock all doors, windows and garage door.

- All exterior doors should be equipped with a deadbolt lock, which should always be used have a security strike plate, attached with a minimum of two, three inch screws.

- If you have an alarm, always activate it when you are away.

- Use photo cells or timers to turn both interior and exterior lights on and off.
