A man avoided serious injury when he was almost ran over by a car in a Newport Beach parking lot, police reported. The incident was reported on Saturday, Sept. 7 about 8:15 p.m. at a parking lot on Balboa Boulevard and West Coast Highway. Jennifer Manzella, police spokeswoman, said the man was lying in a parking space and was nearly run over because the cars could not see him.
