Corona del Mar was listed as number 200, while Newport Harbor was ranked at 502 out of Newsweek's list of the 2,000 best public schools in the nation. Laura Boss, spokeswoman for the Newport-Mesa Unified School District, said school administrators are "thrilled" about the Newsweek rankings.

"This is the first time all of our comprehensive high schools have made the list," Boss said. "It's a credit to the teachers and staff and these kind of recognitions continue to showcase their hard work."
