Officials Give Snapshot of Potential Parking Solutions
At Wednesday's Town Hall Meeting in Corona del Mar, city officials talked about possibly using employee shuttles to help with parking congestion in the village.
Parking in Corona del Mar can be tough for residents and visitors, but solutions are on the way, a city official reported.
Speaking to a crowd of residents gathered at the annual Town Hall meeting at Sherman Library & Gardens Wednesday evening, deputy community development director Brenda Wisneski presented a brief presentation about the exploration of parking solutions in the CDM business district.
"Parking is important to this community, it's an extension of the quality of life and is essential to the success of the business community," Wisneski said.

A consultant was recently hired, according to Wisneski, to help study available parking resources and to identify what could be done to improve parking in CDM areas that have limited parking, including at McArthur Boulevard East Coast Highway.
Jim Walker, treasurer of the CDM Business Improvement District and owner of the Bungalow Resturant, also spoke to residents at the meeting and said some ideas being tossed around include creating a shuttle system for employees who work at businesses in CDM.

"There are times when employees park on side streets in residential areas, and maybe a shuttle service can help eliminate those instances," Walker said.
Community workshops will be scheduled over the next several months to allow for public input.
