One person was injured Tuesday in a car accident in Corona del Mar, police said. The crash was reported about 1 p.m. at Narcissus Avenue and East Coast Highway. Kathy Lowe, spokeswoman for the Newport Beach Police Department, said a red Volvo and a blue Lexus collided. It appeared the Lexus may have run into a light pole. "Paramedics responded and transported at least one person to a local hospital with unknown injuries," Lowe said. Traffic was backed up on East Coast Highway until about 2 p.m. while a tow truck removed the wreckage.
