Rain Expected Through Tuesday

A late season storm brought showers to Orange County Monday. The rain is expected to last through Tuesday, but the sun will be shining on Mother's Day.

Rain fell overnight in Orange County, and commuters dealt with a wet commute as a later season storm brought showers to Orange County this morning.

According to forecasters, the "widespread showers" will continue this morning, and a chance of rain is expected in the afternoon. Today's highs will be between 61 to 66. A 70 percent chance of showers is expected overnight accompanied by a slight chance of thunderstorms, the National Weather Service reported.

Tuesday morning will bring more showers, cloudy skies and a slight chance of thunderstorms, with highs between 62 to 67.

Wednesday is expected to be dry, with party cloudy skies and highs around 64 near the coast and 65 to 70 inland.

Thursday morning will start out with fog and low clouds, followed by partly cloudy skies and highs in the low to mid 60s near the coast, and 65 to 70 inland.

According to forecasters, Mother's Day weekend will be dry. Friday and Saturday will bring cloudy and foggy skies. Highs will be in the upper 60s near the coast, and mid to upper 70s inland. Saturday's highs will be 60 to 73 near the coast, and 77 to 82 inland.

Mother's Day morning will start off with low clouds and fog, but mostly sunny skies are expected in the afternoon. Highs of 70 to 75 near the coast, and 80 to 85 inland.
