Shooting Reported Near Corona Del Mar Beach

One person was injured in the shooting Sunday night, according to the Newport Beach Police Department.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — One person was injured in a shooting near Corona del Mar Main Beach Sunday night, authorities said.

Police officers were dispatched to the area surrounding the beach on Sunday, March 9 at 10:12 p.m., according to the Newport Beach Police Department.

Upon arriving, officers found an adult man who sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Authorities sought the public's help for information while they search for the gunman. Anyone with information was asked to call NBPD Detective Markwald at 949-644-3762.
