South OC Woman Found Bleeding In Motel Room Dies; Man Arrested

A 31-year-old Costa Mesa man was behind bars Tuesday on suspicion of killing a woman who was found bleeding in a motel room.

COSTA MESA, CA — A Costa Mesa man was behind bars Tuesday on suspicion of killing a woman who was found bleeding in a motel room.

Max Blumencranz, 31, was arrested Monday at the Costa Mesa motel in the 1500 block of South Coast Drive at Susan Street, after the woman was found unresponsive in a room at 6 a.m.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced dead, Costa Mesa police officers said. She was identified as 32-year-old Yu Wang of Laguna Niguel.

The relationship between Blumencranz and Wang was not immediately released, though authorities said the two were acquainted.
