Sprinkles Ice Cream Now Open in CDM
Sprinkles Ice Cream opens today in Newport Beach's Corona del Mar Plaza. Ten golden tickets, worth $100 in ice cream, will be hidden inside random ice cream pints.
Sprinkles Cupcakes has had a home in Newport Beach's Corona del Mar Plaza, and now its owner is bringing in handcrafted ice cream a few doors down.
Sprinkles Ice Cream opens today at 11 a.m. at 952 Avocado Avenue in the Corona del Mar Plaza to start serving handcrafted American ice cream. To celebrate the opening, Sprinkles Ice Cream will be randomly hiding 10 golden tickets inside ice cream pints worth $100 in ice cream.
“Newport Beach is a natural beginning to the expansion of this new concept," Founder Candace Nelson, who is also a judge on the Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars, said in a released statement. "Orange County has nurtured our cupcake bakery since 2006 and its characteristic warm, sunny days will go hand in hand with a sweet scoop of ice cream."

Sprinkles Ice Cream is handcrafted, and uses organic California dairy and is slow churned to create creamy and flavorful ice cream. Flavors offered include vanilla bean, strawberry, coffee, salty caramel, cap’n crunch and butter pecan. Sprinkles Ice Cream also offers non-dairy sorbets, shakes, malts, red velvet waffle cones, cupcake sundaes, cupcake shakes and root beer floats.
