Stolen Vehicle Pursuit Ends With Crash, 4 Arrested

The suspects took off on foot before being apprehended by the Huntington Beach Police Department.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – A police chase in Huntington Beach ended with a crash and foot pursuit, but all four of the stolen vehicle's occupants were arrested.

Patrol officers tried to pull the vehicle over about 4:45 p.m. in the area of Fifth Street and Pacific Coast Highway, but the driver refused to stop and the chase was on, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

"The vehicle continued east on Atlanta (Avenue) from Orange (Avenue) and collided with another occupied vehicle," according to a police statement.

The four suspects got out and ran in different directions, but two were quickly apprehended, a third was confronted by an officer and collared after a brief altercation, and the fourth was nabbed after running through front and back yards in the area of Huntington Street and Baltimore Avenue, police said.

The suspect who was driving was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, but the driver of the other vehicle was not injured, police said.

"It is possible (the fourth) suspect dropped evidence including a possible weapon while fleeing," police said.

Anyone who sees anything suspicious in the area was urged to call the police dispatch center at (714) 960-8811.

The suspects identities were withheld pending further investigation.
