NEWPORT BEACH, CA -- The body of a teenage boy was found Saturday morning in Newport Beach. Police said a man discovered the body around 7 a.m. at Bonita Canyon Sports Park at 1880 Ford Road. An investigation determined the boy took his own life, police said. The boy's name is being withheld to protect the privacy of his family. In a statement, the Newport Beach Police Department said, "Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this tragedy."
