The new restaurant Holé Smokes opened Thursday by the same restauranteur who runs his family's Mexican restaurant, Holé Molé.
COSTA MESA, CA — A new Texas-style barbecue restaurant just opened its doors in Costa Mesa, after Holé Smokes was welcomed into the community during its Thursday grand opening.
The restaurant was founded by Ian Bascon, a restauranteur who leads day-to-day operations at his family's Mexican restaurant, Holé Molé, and chef Dan Ramon, a Texas native and BBQ enthusiast, The Orange County Register reported.
The menu features brisket, tri tip, pulled pork, smoked shrimp, St. Louis-style ribs and chicken — all of which can be purchased per plate (with one or two sides), or by the half-pound.
