A 6-year-old boy was hospitalized in fair condition after he was struck by a car at Sherman Way and Whitsett Avenue Monday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The incident was reported at 4:01 p.m., said spokesman Brian Humphrey. The boy was taken to a children's hospital with a broken leg, Sgt. Randy Mordell of LAPD's Valley Traffic Division.
The boy reportedly ran into the street and was struck by an oncoming car, Mordell said.
