Authorities Friday sought public help to find a woman who entered another woman's North Hollywood apartment through an unlocked door, robbed the victim and used her credit cards.

It happened about 9:30 a.m. in the 5800 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard, Los Angeles police officials said.

The victim was asleep at the time of the entry, but awoke while the robber was in the apartment, according to the LAPD. A physical altercation ensued, but the robber was able to escape with stolen belongings.

No word on any injuries the victim may have suffered at this time.

The robber used the victim's credit cards at various locations in the northern San Fernando Valley, authorities said.

Authorities circulated security photos of the suspect, described as Hispanic, 18-20 years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
