Car Plunges 100 Feet Down Tujunga Canyon Embankment

The driver, a man in his 20s, didn't sustain any major injuries in the crash.

SANTA CLARITA, CA — A car plunged 100 feet down an embankment in Tujunga Canyons early Wednesday morning, forcing Los Angeles County Fire Department crews to come rescue the driver. Crews responded to an area near Sand Canyon and Little Tujunga Canyon roads around 1 a.m. and called out to the man, who responded.

Search and rescue teams from Santa Clarita, Montrose and Palmdale arrived at the scene and created a rope rescue line. About 20 members worked together to pull the man out of the canyon, according to Battalion Chief Randy Perry.

The victim, only described as a man in his 20s, did not sustain any significant injuries. Details on what caused the crash weren't immediately available.
