Car Thief Suspects who Eluded Police Found, Arrested
When a woman returned to a nail salon to give a forgotten tip, two men hopped into her open car, which had her keys and purse.

Police arrested two stolen car suspects who had earlier eluded officers following a brief foot chase in North Hollywood Tuesday.
A woman left her purse and keys in the car at Victory Boulevard and Whitsett Avenue around 4 p.m. while she brought a forgotten tip into the Nail Jungle salon, said Sgt. Season Nunez of the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Station.
“It was a crime of opportunity,” Nunez said. “The suspects hopped into her car and drove off with it.”

Police were contacted and the car was quickly spotted, Nunez said. The suspects abandoned the car and ran in the area of Vanowen Street and Ethel Avenue.
Officers with dogs went door to door searching for the suspects. One suspect and a “second possible suspect” were taken into custody at about 6 p.m., Nunez said.
