While veterans are entitled to a series of benefits when they return home, some are left without a chance to maintain their pearly whites.
That's when Dr. Jorge Montes steps in. Based out of his office at 6631 Laurel Canyon Blvd., the experienced dentist is now offering complimentary services to war vets.
To make things official, he recently teamed up with business partner Dorothy Stringer to form Operation Smiles, a nonprofit organization.
A ribbon cutting event was held last week and Montes' first patient was North Hollywood resident Andre Ezmirlian, a 92-year-old veteran of World War II in need of dentures.
