Fire Erupts In North Hollywood

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA -- Firefighters needed 13 minutes to knock down a non-injury fire on the roof of an exterior carport Saturday in North Hollywood.
The blaze on the unattached carport roof at 5738 Fair Ave. was reported at 4:35 p.m., fire department spokeswoman Amy Bastman said.
The estimated 50 firefighters sent to the scene of a construction site called a knockdown at 4:48 p.m., Bastman said. There was no exposure to nearby buildings, she said.
