Firefighters Extinguish Two Acre Brush Fire In Sylmar

61 firefighters contained the blaze in about half an hour.

SYLMAR, CA — Firefighters extinguished a two-acre brush fire in Sylmar Wednesday morning. The fire was reported around 9:49 a.m. and was contained by 10:27 a.m.

According to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department, 61 firefighters were called in to combat the blaze. Crews will remain on site for about three hours to prevent hot spots from popping up.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
