Gunfire Triggers Standoff In North Hollywood

A man barricaded himself in Valley Village Wednesday evening as police responded to reports of gunfire.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD , CA — A suspect barricaded himself in a home in Valley Village late Wednesday afternoon after police responded to the location to investigate a shots fired call.

The standoff began about 5:30 p.m. in the 12300 block of Burbank Boulevard, between Whitsett Avenue and Laurel Canyon Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A SWAT team was called in to try to bring the matter to a peaceful conclusion, police said.
