NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — Los Angeles Police Department officers Tuesday disengaged from a standoff with an armed woman who barricaded herself in a vehicle in North Hollywood after a mental episode.
Responding officers attempted to persuade the woman to come out of the vehicle then decided to end the standoff when they determined she had not committed a crime, police said.
"She didn't threaten anyone with the knife," a department spokesman told City News Service. "She was basically brandishing it and she was having some mental episode."
