NBC4 North Hollywood Bike Sting Leads to Cache of Stolen Bikes
The station used a bike rigged with GPS at the North Hollywood Metrolink station to catch a buyer and seller of stolen bikes located in Sun Valley.

A NBC Los Angeles investigative team helped arrest a man for the selling of stolen bikes after a sting involving a bike rigged with GPS, a camera hidden in a parked truck and the NBC4 traffic helicopter.
In the above video, the reporting team parks a brand-new loaner bike from a local shop at the North Hollywood Metro Station with a cable lock with a disguised GPS unit.
After the bike is stolen, the team tracks it to a home in Sun Valley where the station's helicopter is able to view many more bikes hidden in the backyard. The man living at the home was subsequently arrested by the LAPD.
