No Injuries in Motel Fire

A kitchen fire in a unit on the first floor of a North Hollywood motel was quickly extinguished Tuesday afternoon.

Crews were sent to 6253 Lankershim Blvd. at 3:09 p.m., said the Los Angeles Fire Department's Erik Scott. He said the 30 firefighters knocked down the fire in 12 minutes, preventing it from extending into the upstairs unit.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.

A damage estimate was not immediately available.
