A pumpkin patch and a haunted maze have once again popped up right next door to the Toluca Lake Florist and will keep spooking the neighborhood right through Halloween.
The annual tradition, which also features a petting zoo, has carried on for more than two decades.
"It gets a bit better ever year," said the flower shop's owner, Steve Benveniste.
Hundreds of pumpkins from tiny $2 ones to 150 pound gourds going for $85 are scattered throughout the patch.
The best ones for eating are the small pie pumpkins, commonly used to bake a certain type pastry implied in their name.
"Those pumpkins are actually a little sweeter," Benveniste said.
He'd be happy to point them out.
The pumpkin patch, petting zoo and haunted maze are open every day from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Oct. 31.
Entrance is free, but the petting zoo will cost $4 for entry, $5 if you also want some food to feed the animals. Tickets for the maze are $5.
