Sun Valley Electrical Fire Displaces Six; No Injuries

43 Firefighters extinguished the blaze in 27 minutes according to LAFD.

SUN VALLEY, CA — An electrical fire in a Sun Valley home spread to an adjacent home Tuesday evening, displacing six people from their homes. The blaze was reported about 7:30 p.m. in the 7800 block of Claybeck Avenue, near Hollywood Way and the Golden State (5) Freeway, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The flames spread into the attic of an adjacent home, but 43 firefighters extinguished the fires in 27 minutes, Humphrey said. No injuries were reported.

"The fire was determined to be electrical in nature, and was discovered by residents after they attempted to power a ceiling fan to no avail before noting an electrical power issue in one of the homes that shared a common roof but not a common attic," Humphrey said.
