Authorities Friday identified a Van Nuys resident who was killed when the SUV he was driving collided with two other vehicles in North Hollywood.
John Jerez, 29, died at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday near Lankershim Boulevard and Camarillo Street, coroner's Chief Craig Harvey said.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division, Jerez was driving a 2004 Toyota Highlander north on Lankershim Boulevard when it collided with a 2008 Acura TSX that was westbound on Camarillo Street.
Jerez lost control of the Highlander, which crashed into a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe stopped at a red light facing south on Lankershim Boulevard, police said.

Injured people from all three vehicles were taken to hospitals for treatment, police said. Authorities urged anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact Valley Traffic Division detectives at (818) 644-8116 or 1-877- LAPD-24-7.
