4 Boaters Rescued Near Harbor

Someone aboard the boat radioed for help about 2:40 p.m. from about 2,000 yards offshore.

Four people were rescued from a 21-foot recreational boat that began to take on water for unknown reasons today south of the Oceanside Harbor, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

Someone aboard the boat radioed for help about 2:40 p.m. from about 2,000 yards offshore prompting a response from Oceanside lifeguard and harbor police personnel responded along with the Coast Guard, Petty Officer 1st Class Henry Dunphy said.

Oceanside Harbor Police removed the boaters and towed the vessel to shore, Dunphy said.

No one was injured, Dunphy said.
