Aerial Fire Crews to be Seen on Base Thursday

Firefighting crews will conduct aerial training exercises on base Thursday.

The exercise involving units from Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Navy Region Southwest, CAL FIRE and San Diego Sheriff's Department will take place here from 10 a.m. to noon, May 10.

The exercise is the fifth iteration of its kind and will provide ready, trained and certified resources to combat wild land fires in the region and culminates with a cooperative effort in extinguishing a simulated fire.
