OCEANSIDE, CA — The City of Oceanside approved Alta Oceanside, a 309-unit luxury multifamily property project proposal at 1015 N. Coast Highway in May 2020. Last week the project developers, Wood Partners announced the groundbreaking of Alta Oceanside, which is scheduled to officially open in late 2023.

Wood Partners is extremely excited to break ground on its latest development, Alta Oceanside, which marks the largest multifamily deal west of I-5 in over two decades,” said Yael Suneson, Vice President of Development for Southern California. “The property will offer a premier address along the North Coast Highway, and even better, provide stunning ocean views from the property, which are exceedingly rare in the San Diego market.”

Located on North Coast Highway and Coast Pacifica Way, the community will offer residents the best of coastal living with Pacific Ocean views and the beach just a short walk from the property. Once complete, Alta Oceanside will feature 309 apartment homes comprised of one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans. The units will come in two-color schemes with modern hardware and finishes and include high-end offerings such as walk-in showers and private balconies with Pacific Ocean views.

Alta Oceanside will also feature a wide range of desirable amenities for residents to enjoy, including four separate courtyards including an indoor/outdoor fitness center with yoga equipment, a lap pool for swimming and poolside lounging, a public plaza, and a fifth floor viewing deck to take in the sweeping views surrounding the property. Additionally, residents will have access to an on-site library with conference and co-working spaces and a BBQ area with dining and lounge seating. On-site storage for beach cruiser bikes and surf- and paddleboards will also be available.

The property will occupy 5.3 acres on the Coast Highway across the street from the In-N-Out Fast Food restaurant. The development plan approved by the city on 5/20/20 included demolishing the existing commercial uses on the site and allow the construction of a five-story (maximum 65-foot tall) mixed-use residential and commercial development.

The mixed-use project would be configured as an apartment/commercial building that is wrapped around a five-level parking garage. The residential component would include 309-units comprised of one, two, and three-bedroom residences. These residential units would include 283 market rate apartments and 26 affordable apartments.

The commercial component would include approximately 5,422 square feet of restaurant, retail and/or visitor uses on the ground floor along North Coast Highway. Parking would be provided via a parking garage located in the central area of the site and accessed off of Costa Pacifica Way and within a surface lot located on the southwest portion of the site and accessed off of N. Coast Highway.
