Brush Fire Sparks On Camp Pendleton
The fire is burning within the base's Whiskey Impact Area.
CAMP PENDLETON, CA — A brush fire burning Wednesday on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton prompted a smoke advisory.
The fire was burning within the base's Whiskey Impact Area, which is about 5.5 miles from San Clemente, 7.3 miles from Fallbrook and 9.9 miles from Oceanside, according to the military base.
"While there is no threat of this fire extending beyond the installation, smoke may be visible on Camp Pendleton and surrounding communities," Camp Pendleton officials said on social media. "Camp Pendleton Fire will continue to monitor the situation."

The size of the fire was not reported, nor was an estimated containment time.
