Camp Pendleton Bicycling Lane Closures This Week
The Old Highway 101 bike path through Camp Pendleton will be closed during daylight hours, Nov. 1 to 3, because of military operations.

The following is a news release from The California Department of Transportation.
The bike path along Old Highway 101 through Camp Pendleton will remain closed during daylight hours today through Thursday due to military operations in the area. The closure is between Las Pulgas Road and the fence line at the southern boundary of San Onofre State Beach.
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will open the shoulders along Interstate 5 between Las Pulgas and Basilone roads to cyclists during the closures. Signs will be placed advising cyclists that they must exit at all off-ramp locations along the freeway shoulder route to avoid the possibility of conflict with vehicle traffic.
Northbound cyclists must exit at the weigh station and then re-enter the freeway shoulder. Southbound cyclists will exit at the weigh station and at the vista point and then re-enter the freeway shoulder.
Motorists are reminded to drive alertly, watch for cyclists and share the road.
