Camp Pendleton Marine Killed in Afghanistan
Cpl. Alex Martinez, 21, of Elgin, Ill., died April 5 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
The Department of Defense announced Friday the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Cpl. Alex Martinez, 21, of Elgin, Ill., died Thursday while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton.
