Carlsbad Man Arrested in Connection with Oceanside Burglaries

Danny Wright, 42, of Carlsbad was arrested in connection with burglaries that occurred on the 4000 block of Calle Platino in Oceanside this year.

A Carlsbad man was arrested today on suspicion of stealing about $84,000 worth of stuffed animals from a North County warehouse.

Danny Ray Wright, 42, allegedly got into the storage building in the 4000 block of Calle Platino in Oceanside through a rear door several times since January and stole boxes full of "Pillow Pets" toys, according to Oceanside police Lt. Joe Young.

Investigators found several of the crates during a search of Wright's Bluff Court home and others in two storage lockers in Oceanside, Young said.

Wright was booked into Vista Jail on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property and theft exceeding $65,000. He was being held on $50,000 bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Friday afternoon.
