City Highlights Traffic and Laws for 4th of July

Traffic and parking will be affected and police are practicing "zero tolerance" for crimes. Fines for municipal violations will triple near the beach.

City of Oceanside officials expect more than 200,000 people to visit the city Wednesday for 4th of July celebrations, according to a city news release.

The police department will have “zero tolerance” of crimes in the city, officials said in a release, and fines for Municipal Code violations will triple in the “Safety Enhancement Zone”—which is any place west of the railroad tracks.

Residents should have their identification handy to show they live in the area.
