Corpsman Killed in IED Attack
Petty Officer 3rd Class Clayton R. Beauchamp of Weatherford, Texas, died Tuesday in the blast of an improvised explosive device during a dismounted patrol in Afghanistan.

A 21-year-old Navy corpsman assigned to Camp Pendleton was killed this week by a makeshift roadside bomb in Afghanistan, according to the Pentagon.
Petty Officer 3rd Class Clayton R. Beauchamp of Weatherford, Texas, died Tuesday in the blast of an improvised explosive device during a dismounted patrol in the Shaban District of Helmand province, a Defense Department statement reported.
His brother, Tim Kisor, told the CBS-TV station in the Dallas-Fort Worth area that Beauchamp had planned to buy an engagement ring for his girlfriend once he returned from Afghanistan. Beauchamp was reportedly serving his first of duty and was scheduled to return home in October.

Beauchamp was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 6, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton.
